3.  RESEARCHING THE DETAILS
: in print, at places, and with people.

PRINT:
Ideally, you  have a list of three employment options to research to determine how well they fit and what gaps you may need to fill.  There are some tremendous sites available to assist you at this stage.  External links are:
  • Work BC - Career Profiles
  • Work BC - Industry Profiles
  • Labour Market Information
  • Canada Job Bank

PLACES:
When you've read the career / industry profiles and labour market information, you will have noticed the name of the associations linked to your employment curiosities. Check to see what they say about the field.
  • Browse by Industry
  • Industry and Business (Sectors)
  • Companies
  • Employment Agencies like WorkBC
  • Education Planner BC

PEOPLE:
Before approaching people in your field, look for information about the do's and don't of Networking and Information Gathering (or Informational Interviews).  BCWORKS offers
workshops to help you navigate this significant step in your research.  My advice?  Don't take any shortcuts.  Be as thorough as you can be.  This $tep will pay huge dividends!

Also, examine Social Media aka The Human Network Strategy.
